French defender William Saliba has pledged his future to Arsenal amid strong interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The centre-back initially joined the North London outfit from St. Etienne in 2019 but was sent back to complete his short-term tenures at Nice and Marseille. The 23-year-old has since attracted elite clubs after making a strong comeback from his loan spell.
He has been a formidable figure at the back, helping the Gunners challenge for the Premier League trophy for two consecutive years.
Although they haven’t tasted success yet, the team has improved considerably under his presence. With 103 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side, he is again leading the charge for a third attempt at the prestigious silverware.

Saliba is easily one of the best defenders at the moment, with Madrid star Antonio Rudiger also praising him for his leadership and calmness on the field.
The Los Blancos didn’t shy away from showing their admiration towards the player. Due to persistent injury concerns, they are targeting a new defender who can instantly make them a defensive juggernaut.

However, Saliba has now given a positive update on his future as he rejected any potential future move to the Santiago Bernabéu. He said:
“I feel at home here. I signed for the club five years ago but it’s only my third season and I’m enjoying everything — the players, staff and fans.”
The 6ft 3in is living his best life at Arsenal, and there is no reason for him to rush. He signed a new four-year contract last summer, and as things stand, the defender is ready to help the club end their title drought.
Having a top-quality centre-back pairing is always a dream for any club, and the Gunners are lucky to have Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes at their disposal. The former has contributed both in attack and defense this season. He has three goals to his name, and his defensive record is unmatched.

The fans will be relieved to hear this news since some of their star players were constantly linked to foreign clubs from the past few months. Meanwhile, Madrid needs to shift their focus to another target to solve their injury concerns at the back.
