Arsenal are said to be certain to part ways with Fabio Vieira next year. The 24 year old has impressed this season with Porto on loan this season. But, it seems like there is very little hope that the Portugese gets back into Arsenal squad.
Gunners signed Vieira in 2022 from Porto for £34 million. He had a very good 2021/22 season with Portugese giants. He had 7 goals and 16 assists in 39 games that season which made Gunners to pay the demanded price.
But, Vieira was not able to continue the form he had in Porto since moving to North London. This made Gunners to send him on loan back to Porto this summer. Arsenal have not included a buy option in Vieira’s loan deal but still his chances of getting back in Arsenal team are very slim.
Arsenal very likely to part ways with Fabio Vieira
Fabio Vieira has been very good for Porto recently. He has recovered from injury and now has scored back to back in two matches. There are still hopes that he might get back into Arsenal team. But, Charles Watts has said otherwise.
Watts wrote for his daily briefing of CaughtOffside that the 24 year old will move away from the Emirates permanently next year. He added that Arteta has already admitted that Vieira was sent on loan to make space for Ethan Nwaneri. Lastly, he said that Gunners will have to take a big financial hit as they will face a loss on the £34 million they spent initially.
Watts also said that it is not certain that Vieira’s Arsenal career is fully over. This means that there is still a hope that we may witness more of Vieira in Gunners jersey. In addition, Arsenal are going to need a filling in midfield.
Jorginho and Partey are set to leave next summer as free agents. This will open up space in midfield but it is not the exact position Vieira plays in. He plays on the attacking side of pitch so there are very little hopes about Vieira breaking back into Arsenal team.
