It remains clear that not every player in this current FC Barcelona squad is playing at the level that is expected of them. As a result of being unable to meet expectations, there is often a possibility that a move away from the club ends up materializing. For one certain Barcelona youngster, that could also be the case.
Ansu Fati, one of La Masia’s finest products and currently a forward for the first team, is sidelined at the moment due to a muscular injury. However, with his return from said injury expected to come rather soon, there is an understanding that he may need to make a final decision on his future soon.
As highlighted by SPORT, Fati’s situation is currently quite unclear and the next few opportunities that he gets may be his last ever at the Catalan club. That is because, once he recovers, he will need to decide whether to stay at the club or leave in January.
With a diminishing market value and deteriorating performances on the pitch, Barcelona has been upfront with the player and his representatives about his current standing. Clearly just a player who occasionally gets chances through rotations, this is not the place which seemed destined for the player at the start of his elite career.
To preserve his value and give him that opportunity to continue growing, the 22-year-old Spanish forward will have the option to choose his own future. As per the report, a loan deal is looked upon favorably, but it remains to be seen if the player himself is one board with it.
With a contract that is active until 2028, La Blaugrana will want to sort out his future soon. However, even the player himself must be aware of his standing within the club at the moment. The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Pau Victor, and Ferran Torres all seem to be ahead of him in terms of Flick’s preference when it comes to his forwards.
To avoid a fate where he becomes a forgotten face at the club, Ansu Fati could still perhaps try his luck elsewhere. Teams like Sevilla have shown their interest in the player, but even they would want accessible and advantageous financial settlements to be able to pursue his signing.

As of right now, the player is expected to return for the next league game against Leganes. While he may not necessarily feature in that game, it is true that his opportunities will get less and less frequent as time goes by. For the long-term plans of the club, however, he does not seem to hold much value.
