For years, Carmelo Anthony was among the best scorers in the NBA.
Nevertheless, his postseason success – or lack thereof – often made him a subject of debate among fans.
Some could appreciate his scoring prowess and knew he didn’t always have the best team in his conference.
Others, however, thought of him as a ball-hog whose big numbers weren’t actually relevant.
Notably, that sentiment hasn’t changed much ever since.
Recently, a fan claimed that Brandon Ingram is the modern-day Anthony, as they both put up big points but don’t win many games.
The tweet reached the legendary small forward, who laughed off the social media comparisons.

With all due respect to Ingram, he’s never been on Anthony’s level, and it’s hard to think that will change at this point in his career.
Anthony faced the misfortune of playing against some of the greatest players in NBA history, all at their peak, many of whom had stronger supporting teams.
Unlike LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, he didn’t choose to team up with other superstars to win a ring.
He only agreed to join some of the best after his prime.
That has got to account for something.
Anthony deserves more credit than he gets, but that was always the case with him.
Ring or not, he was one of the most unstoppable scorers in the game for over a decade.
