Champions League LIVE: Liverpool close in on league phase glory with perfect record, Aston Villa eye top eight, Arsenal injury crisis, Man City need win

Who needs Trent?

There is a lot of stress at Anfield about Trent Alexander-Arnold's future.

The right-back's contract expires at the end of the season, and he's been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.

But with him unable to play this evening, Conor Bradley started and turned in his best display in a Liverpool shirt.

The Northern Ireland international grabbed an assist for Alexis Mac Allister's goal and turned in an all-round top display.

Reds legend John Aldridge was full of praise.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "I don't think Bradley has played as well as he has done tonight in a Liverpool shirt.

"So much more of him to come.

"Special talent."

Champions League full times

Right, those games came to life in the second half!

Liverpool maintained their 100 per cent start to the Champions League by dispatching Real Madrid at Anfield.

Aston Villa's winless run carries on after being held to a 0-0 draw against Juventus.

They were denied a late winner in controversial circumstances but probably didn't do enough to win the game.

Celtic missed the chance to basically seal a play-off spot by being held at home to Club Brugge.

Benfica came from 2-1 down to beat ten-man Monaco 3-2.

There was also a great comeback from PSV, who were 2-0 down at home to Shakhtar Donetsk until the Ukrainian side had a man sent off, which changed the game, and PSV won 3-2.

Bologna were beaten 2-1 at home by Lille, and Borussia Dortmund thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 3-0.

English winger Jamie Gittens bagged his fourth Champions League goal of the season for Dortmund.

The referee blows the final whistle, and Liverpool make it five wins from five in the Champions League.

They move back to the top of the table and Arne Slot has his first great European win over the giants Real Madrid.

Of course, Los Blancos are without so many players due to injury, and the game could have been very different had Kylian Mbappe not missed a penalty at 1-0.

But goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo sealed the win, they could even afford Mohamed Salah missing a spot kick of his own.

However, there did look to be an injury to Ibrahima Konate at the end.

In truth, he could barely move, so that doesn't look good for him at all.

NO GOAL! Aston Villa 0-0 Juventus

Villa denied a winner in the cruelest way!

Youri Tielemans delivers a free-kick from the right.

It looks simple for Michele Di Gregorio, but he makes a total mess of it under some slight pressure by Diego Carlos.

The ball drops for Morgan Rogers, and he hooks the ball into the empty net.

The referee awards the goal, but after a VAR check, the goal is disallowed.

That is such a soft decision, and Villa Park is furious!

Liverpool 2-0 Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe nearly gets one back for Real Madrid.

He finds space on the left and drifts inside.

Eventually, the Frenchman rattles in a shot that deflects off Virgil van Dijk and loops just past the post.

Caoimhin Kelleher had no chance with that.

Aston Villa 0-0 Juventus - Chance

What an incredible save!

Juventus win a corner on the right and the ball is delivered into the box.

It's flicked to the far post for Andrea Cambiaso.

He looks certain to score because Emiliano Martinez is at the other side of the goal.

However, the Argentine does somehow get back across to make a stunning save.
