Manchester United have now suffered back-to-back defeats under Ruben Amorim but things are going much worse at Sporting.
Manchester United moved quickly to land Ruben Amorim as Erik ten Hag’s successor.
Amorim was appointed United boss on November 1, but only saw him take charge of his first game on November 24.
Amorim is now settling in at Old Trafford but has suffered a tricky few days in the United hot seat.
United lost 2-0 at Arsenal last week before falling to a 3-2 loss at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.
Amorim faces an enormous task at United and it will take time for him to get the club back on track after years of widespread disappointment.

Ruben Amorim blamed for Sporting struggles
Amorim won’t be happy with those two defeats in a row and will hope for a response against Viktoria Plzen this week.
Things aren’t going much better at Amorim’s former club with Sporting now struggling without the now-United boss.

Sporting beat Amarante 6-0 in the first game under new boss Joao Pereira but have been on a torrid run ever since.
A 5-0 Champions League defeat at the hands of Arsenal has been backed up by surprise losses to Santa Clara and Moreirense.
Amorim racked up 11 wins in 11 league games before joining United, but Sporting have now lost two league games in a row against teams they would expect to beat.
Pereira is already under pressure at Sporting and one Portuguese reporter is pointing the finger of blame in Amorim’s direction.
As quoted by Bancada, Portuguese reporter Carlos Barbosa da Cruz believes that Amorim has left Sporting in a real hole because he took his coaching staff with him to Manchester.
Barbosa da Cruz believes that Sporting would not be struggling so much if Pereira had some of the old Sporting staff to work alongside in his first senior managerial job.
“There is a detail here and I will be honest. If Ruben Amorim had not taken the entire team, it would have been better for Sporting. Ruben Amorim took the entire [coaching] team. He forced Sporting to rebuild that team”, said Barbosa da Cruz.
Who did Ruben Amorim bring to Manchester United?
Amorim oversaw major coaching changes upon joining United.
Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy left United whilst fellow Dutchman Jelle ten Rouwelaar also departed.
Amorim brought in two trusted assistants as Carlos Fernandes and Adelio Candido joined United.
Emanuel Ferro, goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital and sports scientist Paulo Barreira also followed Amorim to join United’s coaching staff.
Not only did Sporting lose Amorim, but also five of his key staff members.
That will naturally cause some instability and Sporting will hope to turn a corner against Club Brugge on Tuesday evening.
