21.6% - Abysmal stat about Man United player will strongly encourage Man City captain Kyle…

Manchester City take on Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend and are seeking to get back to winning ways.

Manchester City played out a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend to show that there is still a huge amount of work to do for Pep Guardiola.

After beating Nottingham Forest last week, fans were disappointed that City then dropped points against Palace, especially after Liverpool saw their game with Everton postponed.

It was a chance for City to close the gap, but poor defending proved costly again.

City are in Champions League action against Juventus tomorrow night, but then it’s Manchester United on Sunday – and Kyle Walker will likely be hoping to participate in one battle in particular.

It has been a pretty awful season so far from Kyle Walker.

He was a late arrival back at City after featuring for England at the Euros, and his lack of a pre-season probably didn’t help.

He then struggled for minutes as Rico Lewis shone.

But Walker has featured regularly over the last couple of months or so, but has drawn criticism for a string of poor displays.

But he’ll likely be hoping he gets to start on Sunday against United, and to face Alejandro Garnarcho specifically.

As per WhoScored, Garnacho is currently the worst dribbler in the Premier League (of players to attempt 30+), having completed just eight of his 37 attempted dribbles.

That gives him a success rate of just 21.6%.

With Garnacho mostly playing from the left side this season, the likelihood is that he would come up against Walker, who stands a very good chance of starting himself due to the suspension of Rico Lewis.

Walker fighting to save his Man City career

It’s been a very poor season from Walke so far, and it has followed a disappointing campaign in 2023/24.

it’s been clear for some time now that Walker has been declining and at times, it’s actually been quite sad to see, given he has been one of the top right-backs the Premier League has seen.

4. Kyle Walker (6.43)

5. Ederson (6.39)

But Walker is arguably now fighting to save his City career. His contract expires in the summer of 2026, but, it’d be no surprise if the club tried to offload him next summer.

City would apparently sell Walker for around £15 million, although that claim was made a couple of months ago and the likelihood is that asking price would probably be too high given how he’s played.
