A lot was said about Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho during his time at Manchester United.
However, Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he actually used to hear a lot of positive things about Jadon Sancho when speaking to people working for Manchester United.
The 24-year-old had a difficult time at Old Trafford but has now put that behind him. At Chelsea, Sancho is now thriving.
He scored a fantastic goal against Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend to start the Blues’ comeback after they had found themselves 2-0 down less than 15 minutes into the game. Paul Merson thought Sancho’s strike was “phenomenal”.

Rio Ferdinand on Jadon Sancho
Sancho’s work ethic and attitude has been questioned in the past, but Ferdinand spoke to people who actually worked with the Englishman day in, day out and know him.
And according to them, Sancho was always willing to put in a shift and run back in games.
On his podcast, Ferdinand said: “At United, when I used to ask all the questions behind the scenes, one of the things that they used to say is that he actually does want to work and he’ll get back in and there’s an intensity to his game to run back etc.”
Ferdinand has also been discussing Cole Palmer, one of Sancho’s teammates, claiming that Destiny Udogie could not get anywhere near him last Sunday.

Jody Morris on Jadon Sancho’s work rate
Former Chelsea player and assistant manager Jody Morris has also been talking about Sancho’s defensive contribution.
In fact, it was a point Morris made about Sancho that got Ferdinand to share what he had heard about the England international from his United connections.
For Morris, Sancho worked extremely hard in Chelsea’s victory over Tottenham, and that is what he liked about his performance.
Morris spoke about Sancho on Ferdinand’s podcast and said: “But I liked, there were two moments yesterday in the game where somebody else gave the ball away in front of him — I can’t remember who it was — it might have been [Marc] Cucurella higher up the pitch, and his reaction to then turn and sprint 40 yards to try and get back in.”
Chelsea have a lot of attacking talent, such as Mykhailo Mudryk and Pedro Neto, who can both play on the left flank.
The left wing is probably Sancho’s favourite position, and if the former Borussia Dortmund man keeps working hard there and contributing to goals, then you would expect him to retain his place.
