There are said to be concerns with off-field lifestyle issues that are affecting his performances on the pitch, despite having scored three goals across Rúben Amorim‘s opening five fixtures.
While The Telegraph did not name a price tag, Saudi Arabia and French club Paris St. Germain were touted as options for his potential transfer in 2025.
Three potential replacements
If reports are to be believed, there are currently three players who United are interested in who may replace Rashford in attack. With no clear spot for attacking wingers like Rashford in Amorim’s system, the club would likely replace Rashford with a striker.
According to reports from Germany, United are interested in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, and it’s stated that sales will be needed before a purchase can be considered.
United are now “fully involved” in the transfer for this coming summer window, but face competition from a host of European clubs.
Meanwhile, Italian reports have also claimed that United hold an interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with some journalists claiming Amorim sees him as a more realistic option than Gyökeres.
Further, Osimhen, who is on loan at Galatasaray, is thought to have a release clause of around £68 million, and considering Napoli are keen to sell after he fell out with the owners, a transfer could be on the horizon.
Finally, the club have also reportedly initiated contact with the representatives of Lille striker Jonathan David ahead of a possible free transfer in 2025.
According to English reports, the 24-year-old is keen on a move to England this summer, and is also on the list of London club Arsenal.
However, Inter Milan are said to have the most substantial interest, with Inter chief Beppe Marotta “desperate” for a player of David’s profile to join their ranks.
