Ibrahima Konate has offered an update on his ongoing recovery from a knee injury. The Liverpool defender suffered the setback late on in the Reds’ 2-0 victory over Real Madrid at the end of last month.
Missing the 2-0 victory over Man City and 3-3 draw with Newcastle United, the France international remained absent for Liverpool’s Champions League trip to Girona on Tuesday night.
Arne Slot has already confirmed that the 25-year-old, along with Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas, is expected to be out for a number of weeks, though has also revealed he expects the trio to be back in action by January.

And now, as Joe Gomez continues to deputise in his absence, Konate has offered something of an update on his own recovery on social media.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, hours before his Reds team-mates were in Champions League action against Girona, the centre-back posted a picture of himself in his Liverpool training gear in the gym at the AXA Training Centre.
Konate had been one of the stars of the Reds’ season, shining alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence. He had made 18 appearances, returning two goals and helping Slot’s men keep 10 clean sheets before his untimely injury.

Yet to return to training, an exact return date remains unclear at the current time. But it is certainly a positive sign for Slot and the Reds to see the Frenchman continue his rehabilitation.
After Girona, Liverpool are back in Premier League action at home to Fulham on Saturday 14 December. The Reds then travel to Southampton in the League Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday 18 December, before facing an away trip at Tottenham Hotspur in their final match before Christmas on Sunday 22 December.
