Report: Newcastle learn how much they'll have to pay for Tyler Dibling as Southampton set…

Southampton’s Tyler Dibling is a name that continues to pop up in Newcastle United’s search for a winger.

As we approach the January transfer window, Newcastle United’s priority is to sign a right winger.

The Magpies failed to sign a winger in the summer despite a deadline-day bid for Anthony Elanga, and it remains a top priority heading into 2025.

Newcastle have struggled in front of goal and Eddie Howe has found it difficult to balance his front three. Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes both want to play off the left, while some of Joelinton’s best performances have also come from out wide.

A right-winger would freshen up the squad and add a new dynamic in attack. In terms of transfer targets, Southampton’s Tyler Dibling appears to be towards the top of the list.

Newcastle United interest in Tyler Dibling

Newcastle’s interest in Dibling dates back to 2022 when he was just a 16-year-old talent in their academy.

Just weeks after the summer transfer window slammed shut, Newcastle were linked with Dibling again following his bright start to the season.

Newcastle fans raved about Dibling after his performance against Liverpool last month, with supporters keen for him to arrive at St James’ Park in 2025.

However, Newcastle continue to be hamstrung by Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules which means the January transfer budget is limited.

Southampton have now made their asking price clear.

Southampton set asking price for Tyler Dibling

According to Caught Offside, Southampton have set an asking price of at least €25m (£21m) to sell Dibling in 2025.

The Saints will fight to keep hold of the 18-year-old winger but find themselves bottom of the Premier League table and may be forced to accept an offer.
