Sean Dyche will no doubt be looking for his Everton team to continue their winning ways against Arsenal in their Premier League clash on Saturday.

Everton are currently 15th in the table and are just one point adrift of 14th-placed West Ham United thanks to their 4-0 victory over Wolves at the weekend.

Dyche’s role as Toffees boss has been under some scrutiny lately due to his team’s underperformance, but the fact The Friedkin Group haven’t taken over the club yet is likely playing in his favour.

Ahead of their top-flight clash against the Gunners on 14 December, some early injury news has emerged from Mikel Arteta’s camp that will no doubt thrill Dyche and Everton’s fans.

The Gunners have been through something of a crisis this season and things don’t seem to be getting much better any time soon.

As per the Liverpool Echo (10 December), Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber all missed out on Tuesday’s training session, with Thomas Partey also among those absent.

A common theme among the injured Arsenal players is the fact that the vast majority of them play a defensive role in the Gunners’ set-up.

Indeed, while Partey is a natural midfielder, there have been times this season when he’s had to put in a shift at right-back due to Arsenal’s lack of available players.

The main area the Dyche’s men have struggled in this season is the final third with neither Dominic Calvert-Lewin nor Beto playing to the best of their ability.

Indeed, in the short cameo that Armando Broja made against Wolves on Wednesday, he seemed fairly lively and could well be the answer to the Toffees’ problems in the future, but at the moment, it still feels too early for him to play a full 90 minutes.

Calvert-Lewin will no doubt be looking to bag his first Premier League goal since the fourth game week of the season in order to try and keep his role in the team but at the moment, that feels unlikely.

The Gunners’ lack of defensive options could, however, work in Everton’s favour and allow them to cause an upset if they can play their cards right.
