To say that it has been a frustrating season for Joe Burrow would be a tremendous understatement. He's fought back from a tough injury that ended his 2023 season en route to the best statistical production of his career; with a league-high 33 passing touchdowns, he's just two away from matching a career high, and he's thrown just six interceptions in the process. His 3,706 passing yards are also the league's best mark this year, giving him a chance at breaking another career-best. Burrow's total QBR of 74.1 is also comfortably the best number of his career.
However, his team hasn't had the same type of success. After being viewed as serious AFC contenders this offseason, the Bengals are 5-8 as the defense has taken quite a few steps back from the form they've displayed over the past few seasons, most notably en route to a Super Bowl appearance a few years ago. This Monday, they pulled off a prime time win against a grievously injured Dallas Cowboys team, but the day wasn't all positive for Burrow.
With the team in Texas for the weekend, anyone who knows where the franchise quarterback lives knew that the house would be empty. As such, a break-in of Burrow's home was reported during the game, as an intruder looked to cash in with the resident of the house out of town.
JUST IN: While Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was playing in Monday Night Football, WLWT has confirmed through 911 calls that police were called to his home for a report of a break-in. https://t.co/4uZdtAoTqS

Interestingly, the 911 caller who reported the break-in stated that her daughter was staying in the house. The daughter herself then called 911, stating that "someone broke into my house." The easy inference is that the female resident of the house was Olivia Holzmacher, Burrow's long-term girlfriend. One might imagine that she would have been in Dallas for the Monday night game as well, but there's no indication that she was.
There was reportedly a police officer on detail at Burrow's house for the evening in the wake of an NFL security memo warning players that homes of professional athletes are being targeted by burglary more and more, especially when those athletes are on the road. The same happened to Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce while the duo was in action on the field.
There's one priceless, irreplaceable possession Burrow has that neither Mahomes nor Kelce can claim- a Heisman Trophy. Suffice it to say that we've heard about cases of Heisman-related theft in the past, but thankfully, there's been no indication that the 45-pound bronze award was taken from Burrow's home. It's a tough item with which to swiftly abscond, and an even tougher one to sell, with cash, jewelry and other valuables much more practical and typical items to be pilfered.
