The Denver Nuggets continue to struggle, but Nikola Jokic is once again having an MVP-worthy season.
The Serbian superstar is averaging 32.3 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game, shooting 56.1 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from the three-point line.
However, Gilbert Arenas believes those are all “empty stats” because the Nuggets aren’t the team they once were.
Speaking on his show, via NBACentral, Arenas said that Jokic is doing well, but it ultimately doesn’t matter because the Nuggets aren’t on the same level as him.
He also said the team was supposed to be much better than this after winning a championship only a few years ago.

Arenas isn’t the only one thinking this.
When the Nuggets won their title in 2023, some people felt it was the beginning of a new NBA dynasty.
Instead, the Nuggets weren’t able to get through the playoffs last season and currently hold a 12-10 record, good enough for the seventh seed in the West.
Meanwhile, Jokic is a frontrunner to win his fourth MVP trophy.
What can be done about this Denver team?
They have some hefty contracts on the books, so they don’t have much money to spend.
However, they want to capitalize on how great Jokic is and make another run at a championship.
What are the chances that the Nuggets can climb higher in the standings, especially with how competitive the West is?
If they don’t, what does this mean for Jokic and his legacy?
How much longer will he be willing to play like this for a team that simply cannot compete like it used to?
