Jose Mourinho could be set for a return to the Premier League in the near future. The former Manchester United and Chelsea manager hasn't worked in England since his controversial exit from Tottenham in April 2021. Since then, he has had a three-year stint with Roma and is currently at Fenerbahce.
Mourinho joined the Turkish side in the summer and has enjoyed a topsy-turvy six months in Istanbul so far. Fenerbache are second in the Super Lig table after 14 matches, six points behind leaders Galatasaray. They also have won two, drawn two and lost one of their five Europa League games.
Back in October, Mourinho issued an extraordinary come-and-get-me plea to Premier League suitors after hinting he could leave Fenerbahce. Speaking following his side's 1-1 draw with United, Mourinho said: "Best thing I can do is to go to a team who does not play in UEFA competition.

"So a club at the bottom in England who needs a coach in two years, I am ready to go. I don’t want to speak any more about it." Just a couple of days later, Mourinho retracted those comments and admitted he has no intention of joining a relegation-threatened Premier League club anytime soon.
Despite this, there has still been rumours floating about over Mourinho's future with Wolves becoming the latest English side to be linked with the 61-year-old. In fact, according to AS Marca, the West Midlands outfit, who sit 19th in the Premier League table, are eyeing up a big-money swoop for Mourinho.
The report states that Wolves have made a £5m offer to Fenerbahce to sign 'The Special One' - with a potential United reunion on the cards when the teams meet on Boxing Day. Wolves boss Gary O'Neil is under pressure at Molineux following a difficult start to the season, with the club sitting second bottom, four points from safety having won just twice in the league this term.
O'Neil's position could become untenable in the coming weeks with fixtures against Ipswich and Leicester to come, however, the former Bournemouth boss retains the backing of the Wolves board, as per the Express and Star. Failure to get maximum points from their next two might change things, though.
As for Mourinho, his Fenerbahce side are back in action when they host Athletic Club in the Europa League on Wednesday, with the game set to kick off at 3:30pm GMT.
