Miguel Almiron could be sold at Newcastle United to make space for new arrivals in the January transfer window.
Newcastle United have no option but to strengthen Eddie Howe’s squad in January.
An underwhelming summer window put Newcastle on the back foot and it has impacted results with the Magpies slumping to 12th in the Premier League table.
As per The Times, Howe warned that Newcastle’s squad is becoming “stale” and will need reinforcements in January.
However, whether or not the club has the financial flexibility to go and complete signings has been cast into doubt. Newcastle’s January transfer budget has been hit hard by Profit and Sustainability Rules which means players will likely have to leave before others can arrive.

Miguel Almiron is up for sale at Newcastle United
According to reports, Miguel Almiron is free to leave Newcastle in January, with the club willing to part ways with the 30-year-old to make space.
Miguel Almiron almost left Newcastle in the summer amid links to the MLS and Saudi Arabia but eventually stayed put on Tyneside and has had to accept a part-time role in the first team.
Almiron’s exit will accommodate a new signing in January by removing his wages, and a new right winger is Newcastle’s top priority.

Newcastle United will return for Anthony Elanga in 2025
Newcastle started to become desperate towards the end of the summer transfer window.
New sporting director Paul Mitchell had failed to land top target Marc Guehi and had also not brought in a new winger despite it being a top priority.
When deadline day approached, Newcastle made a £50m bid for Anthony Elanga which was rejected by Nottingham Forest.
According to journalist Joel Bland, Newcastle will likely push to sign Elanga if Almiron is sold. The club remains interested in a deal for the 22-year-old.
The Swedish international has had a mixed season at Forest. Elanga was branded “awful” earlier this campaign but was impressive against Newcastle when he picked up an assist against the Magpies in November.
