Brighton will bolster their midfield with the arrival of Paraguay international Diego Gomez from Inter Miami in January.
The 21-year-old prodigy js poised to join the Seagulls on January 1 as soon as the transfer window reopens. Impressively, the midfielder scored six goals in 28 appearances for the MLS side this season, playing a pivotal role in their qualification for next summer's Club World Cup.
Moreover, Gomez shone at the Paris Olympics, propelling Paraguay into the quarter-finals, where they were narrowly defeated by Egypt in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Fabian Hurzeler, the Brighton manager, is eagerly anticipating Gomez's arrival, saying: "We are looking forward to working with Diego very soon. He has already made a real impression both at club and international level.
"Like all young players who come to us from abroad, he will need a period of adjustment to the [Premier League](https://www.express.co.uk/latest/premier-league), but I feel he can make a big contribution and I am looking forward to working with him."
David Weir, the technical director at Brighton, expressed his confidence in Gomez, highlighting his capabilities: "He is a dynamic midfielder who can contribute goals and assists.
"He has only recently finished the MLS campaign, so we are confident he will be ready to compete for a place in the squad when he joins us next month."
