EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Giants today made changes in their secondary and on their practice squad.
Cornerback Tre Hawkins, who intercepted Carr for the Giants' first pick since opening day, was placed on injured reserve with a back injury. With just four games remaining, he is ineligible to return this season. To replace Hawkins on the roster, the Giants signed cornerback Greg Stroman off their practice squad.
A second-year pro, Hawkins played in three games this season. On Sunday, he made his first start of the year and had six tackles (four solo). He concluded his season with 10 tackles and his interception.
Stroman joined the practice squad on Oct. 1 after previously playing 29 games for Washington and Chicago. He was elevated from the practice squad for the maximum three games this season, at Pittsburgh on Oct. 28, at Dallas on Thanksgiving, and Sunday. Stroman has four solo tackles.
The Giants also added four players to their practice squad: quarterback Tim Boyle, who was released on Saturday, two weeks after he was signed; defensive tackle Ross Blacklock, who played in 44 games with three starts for Houston, Minnesota, Jacksonville, and Tennessee from 2020-23; cornerback Ekow Boye-Doe, who played in six games for the 2023 Kansas City Chiefs, and cornerback Azizi Hearn, who has never played in an NFL regular-season game.
The Giants also designated center Jimmy Morrissey as practice squad/injured.
