He's actually scored all five of those. That's now six in a row for the Egyptian and he's the first Liverpool player to have an uninterrupted streak of six since... Salah in 2021.

Alexis Mac Allister scored the two before the current six, if you're wondering.

But this got us thinking. Salah has now scored an awful lot of penalties for Liverpool since arriving in 2017. Where does he stack up all-time?

Here's what LFC History tells us.

Liverpool's penalty record

--------------------------

### 5\. Bill Liddel (34)

The Liverpool great scored an awful lot of penalties for Liverpool, much like Salah. He's also now the player just above the Egyptian in the Reds' all-time goalscorer list.

Penalties certainly made a big difference for both.

### \=3. Mo Salah (38)

This was Salah's 38th penalty goal for Liverpool. He's become reliable, while he's also bagged the most important penalty goal in club history.

That came in the 2019 UEFA Champions League final. There likely won't be another that comes with anything like that pressure again.

Also worth noting that Salah is the only player who could possibly move up this list.

### \=3. Phil Neal (38)

Neal's the only non-attacking player on this list. He played as a right-back and was a prolific penalty taker for Liverpool.

In fact, over half of Neal's goals for the Reds came from the penalty spot.

### 2\. Jan Molby (42)

The Dane is a Liverpool legend (like all the rest, to be fair) and was as safe as it got from the penalty spot. Like Neal, the bulk of his goals came from the spot (42 of 62). Molby also once scored a hattrick of penalties - the last Red to do so.

He only ever missed three, scoring his first in 1985 and his last in 1995.

### 1\. Steven Gerrard (47)

It shouldn't surprise anyone that Gerrard tops this list. He was Liverpool's best penalty taker for a very, very long time.

Unlike Salah, who split duties with James Milner, there was never a true rival to Gerrard. He took them for around 12 years and was reliable enough to be the Reds' best ever.
