West Ham supporters have been given an extra boost following news from arch-rivals Millwall.
The Hammers have struggled in the Premier League this season but opened up a nine-point buffer on the relegation zone with a huge win against Wolves on Monday (9 December).
Meanwhile, the Lions currently sit 11th in the Championship, five points behind the play-off places and the news from the Den will make last night’s victory even sweeter for Irons fans.
Manager Neil Harris has decided to leave the club after this week’s matches against Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.

The rivalry between the two East London clubs is one of the most bitter and hostile in the country.

In the 99 meetings between the sides, Millwall have the edge when it comes to all-time results with 38 victories to the Hammers’ 34 wins and 27 draws.
The Irons did win the last meeting in the Championship in 2012 with a 2-1 victory and were ultimately promoted in that season, winning the play-offs.
