Cole Strange is another step closer to making his return for the New England Patriots.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday reported the Patriots are [activating Strange](https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1866575701173998021) from the physically unable to perform list. Strange’s 21-day practice window was set to expire Wednesday, which would have meant he transitioned to season-ending injured reserve.
Strange [returned to practice](https://nesn.com/2024/11/patriots-get-big-boost-forgotten-veteran-returns-to-practice/) Nov. 20. It was the first time after Strange suffered a torn patellar tendon last December.
Strange fills the roster spot of veteran receiver K.J. Osborn, who reportedly was released by the Patriots on Tuesday. Osborn, a healthy scratch four of the last five games, signed a one-year deal with New England this offseason.
The next question as it pertains to Strange: Where will he play? The 2022 first-round pick could provide the Patriots help at either left guard, where he played prior to his injury, or center.
