This past weekend,The Mirror reported that Mohamed Salah is close to agreeing on a new two-year contract with Liverpool, despite speculation about a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain. However, the situation might not be so straightforward.
According to L’Équipe, PSG engaged in discussions with Salah’s representatives, fueling rumors that the 32-year-old could be considering a move to Ligue 1. The report quickly gained traction, adding to the uncertainty surrounding his future.
PSG, however, has denied these claims. A club source told the French outlet, “It’s not true.” The report also hinted that the rumors might be a tactical move by Salah to strengthen his position in ongoing contract talks with Liverpool.
For now, it appears Salah is set to stay at Anfield.TEAMtalk reported that negotiations for a new deal have made significant progress, with growing confidence that an agreement will soon be finalized.

Sky Sports presenter Melissa Reddy claimsthat Salah is now committed to staying under Arne Slot’s management. The veteran has reportedly shared his reasoning, clarifying that he has “no intention” of signing a pre-contract with an overseas club when the new year begins.
“The huge talking point away from the pitch has been over the contract situations of the three core players – Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijkand Trent Alexander-Arnold,” Reddy said (h/tGIVE ME SPORT)
“My information has beenquite consistent in that talks remain ongoing. They’re positive, they’re respectful and Liverpool want to do right by the players, and the club themselves.
“It’s been quite evident that Salah and Van Dijk really want to stay. They’ve made that clear, they verbalized that, and I think, possibly on their side, there’s been a bit of frustration that it’s taken so long to reach an agreement…
“All three would be able to speak to overseas clubs from January 1. The feeling and sense I get from Salah and Virgil is that they have no intention to do that.”
The Daily Mail recently reported that a proposal has been sent to Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, but an agreement is still far from being reached. Talks are ongoing as the Reds work to secure a deal for the player.
