The Portland Trail Blazers have announced rookie center Donovan Clingan has been cleared for on-court workouts and is considered day-to-day as he continues to recover from a grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee.
Donovan Clingan, left knee sprain, has been cleared for on-court workouts and will ramp up towards a return to play. Clingan will be considered day-to-day going forward.
Clingan sustained the injury on Nov. 23 during the Blazers’ 104-98 win versus the Houston Rockets. He has missed the last seven games due to the injury. After Clingan was diagnosed with the MCL sprain on Nov. 26, the Blazers had announced that Clingan would be reevaluated in two weeks.
In 17 appearances this season, including six starts, Clingan has averaged 5.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 17 minutes per game. The Blazers are 8-16 on the season. Since Clingan went out of the lineup, the Blazers are 1-6.
