The Dallas Cowboys dropped their eighth loss on Monday Night Football to the Cincinnati Bengals. To make matters worse, the team also lost another defensive star in DeMarvion Overshown.

Overshown suffered a horrible knee injury in the game, and now the impact of that injury has been detailed. According to ESPN's Todd Archers, Overshown tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL.
Overshown will now undergo season-ending surgery, and there is likely a chance that he will not return to action in the 2025 season.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke about Overshown's injury, stating:
"I don't know at this time the time-date on his rehab," Jones said, "but I just can't tell you how bad I feel for him because he's just been through that mental and physical rehab on his other knee ... It's the toughest time for a player. And we all see the loss and know what it's going to mean for us in our remaining four games. Bottom line is it's really sad that he's having to have this surgery for him as an individual and obviously us as a team."
Micah Parsons also spoke about the injury to Overshown.
"I cried," Parsons said. "It's like my little bro, bro. He doesn't deserve that either. He really don't. Just to understand what he's going to go through and to be there for him physically, mentally. It's just so challenging because of the year he was having. I really just don't think that's fair either."
Overshown suffered a torn ACL in his other knee in the 2023 season, missing his rookie year. Now, there is a chance that he will not make it back to the lineup to play in 2025 simply based on the recovery time of such a significant injury.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz stated, "It's unclear at this point whether or not Overshown will be able to play in 2025."
This is a tough break for a budding defensive star. Overshown secured five sacks, one forced fumble, and one interception through 13 games.

Overshown is the third pass rusher to be lost on the Cowboys. Sam Williams tore his ACL before the season began, and DeMarcus Lawrence still remains out after suffering a foot injury earlier this season.
The Cowboys are unlikely to make the playoffs in 2024 and will have to deal with finding some depth on the defensive side of the ball considering the huge injuries they faced this season.
