Before Monday, Karl-Anthony Towns had never won a game when the Minnesota Timberwolves played the Toronto Raptors. In just his second month with the New York Knicks, though, that drought ended.
Towns helped lead the way for New York in their 113-108 win on Monday with 24 points and 15 rebounds. The Knicks moved to 15-9 on the year and have won 12 of their last 17 games as well.
And while finally ending his drought in Toronto - he'd been 0-8 - Towns is more worried about what it does for his new city.
"We've gotta get a win for this city no matter what. I was gonna do whatever it takes to get the W. Happy I could play and then hit the shot to give us a win," Towns said. "We dem boyz. I point to that jersey cause we put the work in. We do everything possible to win."
"I'm happy to win here (Toronto). I haven't won here in a long ... time."
During Monday's win, Towns was seen extending his jersey number and pointing to the New York emblem during the team's victory. Part of the reason why the Knicks have gotten off to such a good start has been due to the team's improved chemistry.

And it's why the team continues to find ways to win early in the year.
"I think we did a great job of staying connected," Towns explained. "Our discipline executing on offense and defense and the emotional intelligence to keep our emotions intact and do what it takes to get a win."
Towns has integrated himself flawlessly with the Knicks at this point in the season and has them as true title contenders. So long as the team stays healthy, it's hard to see any roster in basketball be able to keep up with them.
