Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero set to miss six more weeks of action
Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 4-3 loss against Chelsea last weekend in the Premier League. As if the result, their second straight defeat in the English top flight, was not enough to worry about, Ange Postecoglou’s injury problems became worse. Cristian Romero has suffered a fresh setback after his recovery having started against the Blues and then getting subbed off minutes into the match.
Cuti Romero tiene una lesión muscular, no fue en el pie. Está curado de esa lesión.
Va a ser baja por seis semanas.

According to journalist Gaston Edul, the Argentine international is expected to spend six more weeks on the sidelines. Fortunately for Tottenham and Romero, however, it is not a relapse of the foot injury that he suffered approximately a month ago but rather a muscle injury, of which Spurs have had their fair share since the season got underway.
Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero has been subject to links with a move away from White Hart Lane, as he is linked with Real Madrid.
Romero’s injury is terrible news for Tottenham as they had been performing well in his presence. Once the South American went amiss, the team’s defence looked shaky and the results were also far from ideal. In that period, there was an international break for a couple of weeks to help Spurs’ nosedive in form to be rectified, though for the next month and a half, fixtures are expected to come thick and fast across all competitions.
Thankfully, Micky van de Ven is back and put on a decent showing against Chelsea so it seems as though the Dutchman could be Radu Dragusin’s partner in the heart of the backline for the foreseeable future. At the same time, Tottenham’s depth at the back is severely compromised and Postecoglou will hope he does not suffer any more injuries with fixtures set to be played at an average interval of three days until January ends.

Spurs face Rangers next in the UEFA Europa League, a competition in which they are also winless in two successive matches, before bidding to get back to winning ways with a trip to Southampton at the weekend. Thereafter, they are back in the Carabao Cup and take on Manchester United, so even the next week could go a long way in deciding their’s and Postecoglou’s fate.
