So far this season, the forward has scored two goals and provided three assists in 16 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Club.

Recently,SPORT reported that Athletic Club are keen to extend Williams’ contract amid continued interest from other European clubs. Barcelona remains interested, but only if his release clause stays at €60 million.

“Nico is one of a kind. He’s an amazing player,” Mourinho said (h/tDiario AS). “During the Euro Cup, people were talking about Lamine Yamal, who is obviously another incredible talent, but personally, I prefer Nico. He’s a fantastic player. I just can’t imagine a Turkish club signing him. I really hope he ends up in white.”

This season, Williams has scored two goals and recorded five assists in 20 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Club.
