San Francisco 49ers running back Isaac Guerendo is one of six rookies nominated for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week - Week 14 award following his two-touchdown performance in his first-career start. Guerendo was tasked with leading the 49ers ground game against the Chicago Bears after injuries to running backs Christian McCaffrey (PCL) and Jordan Mason (high ankle sprain) landed the duo on the Injured Reserve list.
The 49ers fourth-round pick logged 15 carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in addition to two catches for 50 receiving yards in San Francisco's 38-13 victory over the Bears. Guerendo's productive day was cut short due to a foot injury midway through the fourth quarter. He exited the game and did not return to action. With a short turnaround to "Thursday Night Football" against the Los Angeles Rams, the rookie's game status for Week 15 remains uncertain.
Guerendo has appeared in all 13 of San Francisco's games in 2024, contributing to both to special teams and the rushing attack.
