Today TRENDnet, a leader in networking, surveillance, transportation, and power solutions, announced it is bringing support for its TRENDnet Hive remote cloud management system to its industrial managed switches. With Hive it is possible for an administrator to monitor and manage networks and network devices via an Internet connection, and all from a single interface. If there is a problem with a business's network, this will allow one to log in, investigate, and potentially solve the problem with greater ease than tracking down and connecting to the specific device suffering the issue. Additionally, TRENDnet Hive Pro has been updated with a new heatmapping feature for compatible wireless devices. This provides a visual overview of devices with data on signal strength and coverage so one can find and address dead zones in an environment more easily.

At the moment only the recently announced TI-BG62i and TI-PG1284i, industrial managed switches with six and twelve ports respectively, support TRENDnet Hive but firmware updates are coming for other switches. A list of those to receive such upgrades is provided at the source link and covers non-POE, POE+, and POE++ switches spanning from six ports to 26 ports. The expectation is to have these upgrades completed by Q2 2025.
