LOSC Lille’s key duo Angel Gomes and Jonathan David are the subject of Tottenham’s interest, with Arsenal and Manchester United also keen on the latter.
According toTBR, Tottenham have reportedly opened talks for LOSC Lille’s Angel Gomes ahead of January and also maintains an interest in striker Jonathan David. The latter has other clubs keen on signing him, including Arsenal and Manchester United, as there are big decisions to be made for the French side.
Tottenham are in a difficult period at the moment, as Ange Postecoglou’s job has come under scrutiny. Some do expect Spurs to keep faith in the Australian, who might be given an opportunity to strenghthen the side ahead of the January window to turn around their fortunes.
They are eying a midfielder with a profile different from the ones they currently have, asTottenham hold an interest in Angel Gomes. The England international’s current deal at LOSC Lille expires in the summer, meaning he could be snapped up on a cut-price deal ahead of January.
Gomes reportedly prefers a return to Manchester United, although Spurs might have a big shout in the race should they get ahead with an offer of sorts to tempt Lille. The midfielder has already indicated his desire to leave the French side, which could see them cash in if a presentable offer arrives.
Tottenham are also interested in Jonathan David, the other Lille player who is out of contract in the summer. Hence, Spurs might be in for a busy winter period, although with the Canadian, he might stick around with Lille until the season ends to leave on a free transfer.
Jonathan David has big suitors ahead
Tottenham might prove to be an attractive destination for David, although he has other big suitors chasing his signature. There’s sufficient interest from the likes ofArsenal and Manchester United, as either of those English giants is likely to present an offer given the attractive financial terms at which the striker is available next summer.
Any move for David might have to wait until the summer as he bides his time at Lille, as leaving on a free transfer will likely be a better offer for the Canadian. As for Tottenham, they do stand a strong chance to prise the striker to north London, although there could be some conditions attached like Champions League football next season, and the same might apply for their other Lille target, Gomes.
