Andy Reid Reacts To Bill Belichick’s Interest In College Football

After helping the New England Patriots win six Super Bowl titles over the course of two and half decades, legendary head coach Bill Belichick found himself without a job heading into the last offseason and shockingly went unhired ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

Even though he was unable to secure another head coaching job in the NFL, the consensus has been that he’ll be a top candidate for vacancies around the league when they open up again during the upcoming NFL offseason.

However, Belichick might have other plans, as he has let it be known that he has interviewed for the head coaching job at the University of North Carolina to replace the recently fired Mack Brown, which was another shocking twist in the future Hall of Famer’s legacy.

Although Belichick could very well be headed to North Carolina to try his luck on the college level, he hasn’t ruled out returning to the NFL just yet.

With Belichick weighing his options, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was asked about his thoughts on the former Patriots head coach potentially making a career change via SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“I’ve said it before, he’s the greatest, and whatever he chooses, he can go to high school or wherever he wants to go, he deserves the right. Whatever makes him happy. I think the NFL, though, would be missing a great part if he decides he wants to come back,” Reid said.

At this point, it’s impossible to tell if Belichick is truly serious about taking a college job rather than returning to the NFL to try again to break Don Shula’s record for most career wins on the professional level.

Reid seems to be all for Belichick trying his luck on the college level but admits the NFL will miss him.
