The New York Jets were officially eliminated from playoff contention after suffering their fourth-straight loss on Sunday to the Miami Dolphins.
One player who the Jets were missing on offense was star running back Breece Hall, who was inactive with a knee injury. Hall leads the team in total scrimmage yards, meaning the team was without a massive amount of their production.
Rather than start one running back in Hall's place, the Jets decided to split the starting duties, as rookie running backs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis both saw a similar amount of snaps.
Allen, a fourth-round pick, and Davis, a fifth-round pick, finished the game with 15 and 13 touches, respectively. Allen finished with 81 total yards, while Davis finished with 67 total yards and a touchdown.
When speaking to media after the game, interim coach Jeff Ulbrich had high praise for both rookies.

"I don't think I've seen two young rookies, at the same position especially, have such a mature approach," said Ulbrich. "I mean, these kids both have amazing careers ahead of them and it's just so exciting for them to get these opportunities early in their careers. Both guys are super mature at a young age and really understand what a process needs to look like."
With the Jets officially eliminated from playoff contention, and Hall potentially still dealing with the effects of his knee injury in the coming weeks, Allen and Davis could have more touches coming their win the final four games.
