North Korea’s state media reported on South Korea’s political chaos Wednesday for the first time since President Yoon Suk Yeol shocked the world by declaring martial law. The North’s state Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) said the puppet regime of Yoon Suk Yeol, who already faced a serious crisis of governance and threats of impeachment, declared martial law unexpectedly and unleashed the guns of its fascist dictatorship on the people, wreaking havoc across South Korea.  After a weeklong silence, the KCNA explained how martial law troops attempted to cordon off the National Assembly compound in Seoul and how Yoon lifted his decree only after the Assembly voted to reject it. The KCNA also said Yoon’s insane act has drawn strong condemnation from all walks of life, including the opposition party, and increased the public’s fervor for impeachment. The report continued that the international community is sternly watching the situation, adding that the martial law incident exposed vulnerabilities in South Korean society and that Yoon’s political career could face an early end.

The same article was published in the Rodong Sinmun daily, which targets the general North Korean public.
