ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WBAY) - DICK’S Sporting Goods and Green Bay Packers QB, Jordan Love, hosted a surprise holiday shopping event for kids in our area.
The children are all from the ‘Better Days Mentoring’ organization.
DICK’S and the ‘Hands of 10ve’ Foundation provided each of them with a gift card to spend at the store.
Organizers say they’re happy to be a part of something that’s inspiring more kids to get involved in youth sports and that they can be there to surprise the kids with a day they’ll never forget.
“Jordan and some of his teammates are going to be here to kind of ring in the holiday season and give them a surprise and a $300 shopping spree,” Kyle Flanagan, the Field Marketing Manager said. “They’re usually a little starstruck. They’re very reserved so that’s a real great chance for the kids to see the players as real people.”
In total, eight children were invited to participate.
