Hard-hitting linebacker hopes to retire with Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Elandon Roberts said that he hopes to re-sign with the team this offseason and eventually retire with the team. During the Elandon Roberts Show on 93.7 the Fan, Roberts said he never wants to leave the Steelers.

"I plan on staying in Pittsburgh for the rest of my career," Roberts said.

Roberts was signed to a two-year contract in 2023 and has played since. He held together a patchwork linebacker room last season when injuries hit hard, as Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander were lost for the season due to serious injuries.

Before that time, Roberts has played with the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. He is a two-time Super Bowl Champion from his days in New England and has instilled a winning culture in Pittsburgh’s room as one of the few players on the roster who won a Super Bowl.

Roberts will hit free agency this offseason, and the Steelers drafted Payton Wilson, hoping the rookie would catch on quickly and become a core piece of their team. Wilson has played well, but Roberts is the backbone run-stopper of the group, and it seems likely that the Steelers will have an interest in bringing him back.
