ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Saint Viator High School has hired Robbie Gould, former Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers kicker, as its new head football coach.

Gould, a Chicago-area native who recently retired from the NFL and coached at Rolling Meadows High School, is enthusiastic about continuing his post-NFL journey in his hometown.
"I am both honored and excited to be joining Saint Viator High School, an institution with a storied tradition of excellence both on and off the field. Creating a family atmosphere within our football program is of utmost importance to me," Gould said in a statement.

Saint Viator President Ryan Aiello expressed confidence in Gould’s ability to lead.
"When we began our search, we were looking for a coach who understands our Viatorian mission, who is able to navigate the landscape of high school football, and who possesses the necessary skills to successfully develop our players athletically, academically, and emotionally well into the future," Aiello said.
The school will host a press conference on Thursday to formally introduce Gould.
"Our journey to greatness will begin together!" Gould said.
