Being named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy is an achievement unto itself. For those like NFL star-in-the-making Travis Hunter, it's another step up on a long stairway of success.
While on the Pivot Podcast with Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder, Hunter confidently spoke about why he deserves to win the Heisman Trophy and his versatility on the football field.
"What player you know that can play receiver and the gameplan is about you on the offensive side of the ball. And then you go to the defensive side of the ball, the gameplan is still about you."
"You've never seen a player like me."

After being named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Hunter won the Lott Impact Trophy Award. He is already the favorite to win the Paul Hornung Award, given to the nation's most versatile player.
While Hunter is a popular choice to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, there is far from any consensus. With the top choice trending hard toward quarterbacks over the years, Hunter's teammate, QB Shedeur Sanders could be selected first.
Look for his head coach, Deion Sanders, Shedeur and possibly Colorado's senior quality control analyst Warren Sapp, at the Heisman Trophy ceremony on December 14.
