Ambassador Zhang briefed Khaled on a series of new, historic achievements of China’s human rights undertaking in the new era, stressing that bearing in mind the human rights philosophy that centers on the people and the proposition that living a life of contentment is the ultimate human right, China is making its utmost to deliver a better life for the people. Meanwhile, China is also committed to the sound development of the human rights cause of the world through providing a Chinese contribution to global human rights governance and progress. There is diversity in civilization with respect to human rights, but there is no one-size-fits-all model in the protection of human rights. Following similar philosophies in the field of human rights, China and Kuwait ought to enhance exchanges and cooperation in this area and jointly make new contributions to the sound development of the human rights cause.

For his part, Khaled said China’s achievements in its human rights cause are obvious to all. He expected to strengthen exchanges of philosophies, policy communication and experience sharing with respect to human rights, saying this will enhance mutual understanding and help achieve common progress through exchanges and mutual learning.
