After recording three wins in a row thanks to a late comeback at Ipswich on Sunday, the Cherries now sit in eighth position in the Premier League, on 24 points.
But it is tight at the top – just one point separates Bournemouth from a Europa League spot, and they are three points off Manchester City in the final Champions League position.
Asked after the Ipswich game about the potential of European qualification, Iraola said: “I think we shouldn't look at the standings right now. It's very early in the season.
“I don't know even where we are.
“I know that we have 24 points, and we value the 24 points. That is a good amount for the games we've played. But it's very early to start looking at the standings.
“I think we have to now focus in recovering after a very difficult week, successful for us with the points but demanding physically.
“[We must] recover and get ready because we have after this kind of normal week, a very busy period in Christmas and I hope we can continue adding points because the Premier League is so difficult that very small details, a change of form, it makes you from achieving a lot to not achieve anything and let's try to continue like this.”
Iraola reiterated that he doesn’t look at the table too often – and said he wouldn’t advise doing so at this stage of the season.
“I think I value the points and we need more like all the teams in this moment and I hope we can continue adding [them],” he said.
“I think I'm confident with the team because we are being competitive, when we play well, when we don't play as well. I think we've been in all the games probably apart from Liverpool; even that game we didn't play badly.
“So let's hope that we can continue playing the same way. I don't know about adding the same points but playing the same way.
“But it's easy for me to say it, it's difficult obviously to do it.”
