OpenAI is releasing Sora, its AI model designed to convert text into video. The model is now available on sora.com for ChatGPT subscribers in the USA and "most other countries," along with a new version called Sora Turbo, **Azernews** reports.
The updated model comes with additional features, including the ability to create videos based on text descriptions, animate images, and edit existing videos. ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers will have access to Sora.
With a ChatGPT Plus subscription, users can generate up to 50 priority videos (1000 credits) with a resolution of up to 720p and a duration of 5 seconds. The ChatGPT Pro subscription, priced at $200 per month, offers an "unlimited number of generations" and up to 500 priority videos, with a resolution of up to 1080p and a duration of 20 seconds. This higher-tier plan also allows users to upload videos without a watermark and perform up to five generations simultaneously.
During the live broadcast, OpenAI demonstrated a new Sora Explore page, which features a feed of AI-generated videos created by other community members. They also introduced the "Storyboard" feature, which enables users to create videos based on a sequence of text prompts, and the ability to turn photos into videos. Additionally, OpenAI unveiled the "Remix" tool, allowing users to modify results using text commands, and a function for "mixing" two scenes together.
Sora is now available worldwide, except in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and China. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman mentioned that the launch in most of Europe and the UK could take some time.
