The FA Youth Cup has reached the Third Round stage, and in there amongst Premier League giants such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Everton, Nottingham Forest, Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City are two of our very own, Merstham and Burgess Hill Town.
As luck would have it, the draw for the Third Round saw the Moatsiders and the Hillians drawn together, so one of them will make it through to the Fourth Round- and you can head along to Moatside **tonight** to find out who. Kick off is, of course, at 7.45 PM- and with the potential rewards on offer in the next round you can be quite sure that both sides will be rather desperate for victory.
To reach this stage the Moatsiders, who started in the Extra Preliminary Round on August 14th, have already defeated Roffey, Farnham Town, Pagham, Sutton Common Rovers, Beaconsfield Town, St Albans City and Forest Green Rovers.
Burgess Hill Town started a round later than their hosts, in the Preliminary Round, and kicked off with victory over Broadbridge Heath. Deal Town, Maidstone United, Erith Town, Maidenhead United and Colchester United have since been vanquished.
Whoever wins this evening will deserve our congratulations, but in truth those congratulations are already due. What a fantastic run from both teams to get this far, and some major scalps.
Who knows, more major scalps may life ahead!
**The best of luck to both sides. We're extremely proud of you.**
