Barcelona willing to offer two players in exhange for Real Madrid’s midfield target – report

Barcelona are reportedly keen to bolster their midfield options ahead of the next summer transfer window, with Enzo Fernandez emerging as a top target.

According to a recent report from Fichajes, the Catalan club is exploring a potential deal for the Argentine midfielder and may include the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Ferran Torres to offset the high transfer cost.

Fernandez, who joined Chelsea two years ago for a staggering €120m, has been in remarkable form under Enzo Maresca.

His recent performances, featuring three goals and six assists in his last six games, have reaffirmed his status as one of Europe’s top midfield talents.

This has drawn continued interest from Real Madrid as well as Barcelona, who view him as a perfect addition to their midfield rotation alongside Pedri, Gavi, Marc Casado, Dani Olmo, and Fermin Lopez.

Barcelona’s leadership, led by Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, believes that a player-exchange proposal could make the deal feasible. De Jong, despite his technical abilities, has struggled to fully integrate into Hansi Flick’s system.

Similarly, Ferran Torres has not been a key figure in the squad since his arrival. By offering these two players, Barcelona hope to present a package enticing enough for Chelsea to consider.

However, convincing Chelsea will not be an easy task. The English club sees Fernandez as a cornerstone of their project and is unlikely to let him leave without significant compensation.

While a player-exchange deal might appeal to Chelsea’s management, the final decision will rest with owner Todd Boehly and manager Maresca.

Barcelona remain cautious about overspending and have ruled out entering a bidding war for the Argentine. If the deal falls through, the club will focus on alternative options to reinforce their squad.

Securing Fernandez would mark a significant step in Flick’s efforts to rejuvenate the Blaugrana midfield and ensure the team remains competitive at the highest level of European football.
