Manchester United are working on bolstering their youth ranks, poaching the services of 16-year-old Emmanuel Ziro.

The 16-year-old is a midfielder who had been sharpening his weapons at London-based academy Cre8tive, and is considered one of the most exciting talents of his age.

The teenager announced the move on his Instagram account, revealing his delight to join the Red Devils

“Firstly, I would like to thank my family for all their love, support and encouragement throughout the years. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a ball at my feet and enjoy the game of football,” posted Ziro on social media.

“I now have the opportunity to continue doing that at the biggest club in the world, as well as the team I support. I look forward to continuing my journey playing for Manchester United and would like to thank everyone that has contributed to my development up until now especially @cre8tive.football. You guys are my family and I thank you for everything you have done for me up.”

Man United sign Emmanuel Ziro & extend the contract of Ruben Curley

On a separate note, the Red Devils have also extended the contract of Manchester United U21 starlet Ruben Curley. The latter also made the announcement on his Instagram account.

The 19-year-old has recently been promoted from the U18 ranks to the U21 squad, and he’s also been training regularly with the first team.

The Englishman is a central midfielder who tends to play in front of the backline. So it remains to be seen if he’ll get his first crack at senior football this season under Ruben Amorim’s guidance.

This season, he has thus far made five appearances in the Premier League 2, contributing with an assist.
