On December 5, 2024, Vice President Han Zheng met with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Eloina Rodriguez Gomez in Beijing.
Han Zheng said that China and Venezuela are good friends who trust each other and good partners of common development. In September last year, President Xi Jinping and President Nicolás Maduro Moros jointly announced the elevation of China-Venezuela relations to an all-weather strategic partnership, ushering in a new era for bilateral relations. This year, the two sides celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. China is ready to work with Venezuela to earnestly deliver on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning their respective core interests and major concerns, strengthen practical cooperation, push for greater development of bilateral relations and safeguard the common interests of developing countries.
Delcy Eloina Rodriguez Gomez said that Venezuela firmly adheres to the one-China principle, supports the series of major concepts and initiatives put forward by China, and is ready to learn from China's successful experience in governance, strengthen bilateral cooperation and multilateral coordination, oppose unilateral and illegal sanctions and repression to safeguard national security and development as well as international fairness and justice.
