Ahmedhodzic, Souttar start: Sheffield United team news and predicted XI to face Millwall

Sheffield United will be looking to continue their push for promotion against Neil Harris’ Millwall on Wednesday night.

Sheffield United come into tonight’s game against Millwall looking to return to the summit of the Championship table after Tuesday’s fixtures.

Promotion rivals Leeds United were victorious while Burnley and Sunderland both played out draws. It gives the Blades a chance to grow the gap to the latter two somewhat while keeping pace with their Yorkshire rivals Leeds.

Last time out, Chris Wilder’s side played out a 2-2 draw with West Brom. Tyrese Campbell and Callum O’Hare were on the scoresheet at The Hawthorns.

As for Millwall, they’ve announced Neil Harris will be stepping down as manager. He will oversee tonight’s game against Sheffield United and the Middlesbrough clash this weekend but afterwards, he’ll move on in surprise circumstances.

After coming off against West Brom, Sheffield United talisman Campbell will be fit and ready to go against Millwall.

In another boost, go-to centre-back pairing Anel Ahmedhodzic and Harry Souttar will both be available again. Jack Robinson and Alfie Gilchrist covered for the duo against West Brom last time out.

Rhian Brewster made a successful return at The Hawthorns and fellow striker Kieffer Moore could be fit to feature tonight, though a patient approach will be taken with his return to action.

Ollie Arblaster is out long-term with a knee injury while fellow academy product Sai Sachdev is also sidelined for the foreseeable.

The notable changes to the Sheffield United starting XI will be at the back, with the attack and midfield unlikely to be changed.

The returns of Ahmedhodzic and Souttar will mean Wilder likely returns to his go-to back four. Gilchrist will move back to right-back while Harrison Burrows stays at left-back, though Sam McCallum is a rotation option there.

Sydie Peck keeps his place as the Arblaster replacement alongside Vini Souza while the wings and attacking midfield spots stay the same.

Having been deemed fit, the in-form Campbell should stay up top.
