Manchester City are ready to battle Liverpool and Manchester United for the signature of Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to Caught Offside (via The Hard Tackle). The Brazilian midfielder has seen his stock rise following a series of impressive performances for the Serie A side.
Ederson was key to the club's Europa League triumph last season. This campaign, the 25-year-old has registered two goals and one assist from 21 games across competitions.
His efforts have already convinced Pep Guardiola, who is looking for Rodri's replacement. Manchester City have struggled in the absence of the Spanish midfielder, who is out for the season with an ACL injury.
The reigning champions have identified Ederson as the ideal candidate to fill Rodri's boots at the Etihad. Atalanta have slapped a €60m asking price on the player's head, but are unlikely to let him go in the winter.
Meanwhile, City will face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United for the Brazilian. The Reds wanted to sign a new midfielder this summer and failed in their efforts to rope in Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi. Ederson has now popped up on Arne Slot's radar.
Despite Ryan Gravenberch's recent efforts, the Merseyside club are apparently open to midfield reinforcements in 2025. Ederson's attributes could make him a good fit at Liverpool.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also looking for a new midfielder amid the uncertainties surrounding the futures of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. The latter is in the final year of his contract and hasn't been offered a new deal yet. While Manchester United roped in Manuel Ugarte this summer to eventually replace Casemiro, they apparently remain interested in Ederson as well.

Liverpool and Manchester United are apparently among a host of clubs eyeing a move for River Plate sensation Franco Mastantuono. The 17-year-old has earned rave reviews with his efforts for the Argentinean giants and is expected to arrive in Europe in 2025.
The Red Devils have altered their transfer strategy in recent times and are targeting talented young footballers at the moment. Manchester United have a history of nurturing budding talents and are convinced that Mastantuono will be a hit at Old Trafford.
Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) also have their eyes on Franco Mastantuono. However, Liverpool are already planning to win the race by triggering the player's £37.3m release clause.
