Scottie Barnes watched Raptors practice wearing a walking boot on Tuesday. But “walking” wasn’t the best description of his mode of transport. More like “wincing in pain while limping gingerly.”

The morning after Barnes appeared to injure his right foot or ankle while landing awkwardly on the shoe top of New York’s Karl-Anthony Towns in Monday night’s loss to the Knicks, you didn’t need to be a doctor to deduce that Barnes will miss a considerable swath of coming games to injury. Less than a month since he returned from sitting out 11 games to an orbital fracture, the Raptors’ best player is on the shelf yet again.
