Thaddeus Moss Refutes Brett Favre’s Post About Randy Moss’ Health

Last week, former Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots wideout Randy Moss revealed he was battling a health issue without disclosing much information on it. This led to many fans sending their thoughts and prayers to the Pro Football Hall of Famer.

ESPN stated a few days later that Moss, an analyst for the show "Sunday NFL Countdown," would be taking a leave of absence to deal with his illness.

But on Tuesday evening, former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald Jr.'s father, Larry Fitzgerald Sr., revealed in a post on X that Moss is battling liver cancer, leaving many concerned even further for the former NFL superstar.

This prompted Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre to send his thoughts and prayers to Moss and his family with his own post.

"Prayers to Randy Moss and his family," Favre wrote on X with a praying emoji. "Randy is and will always be one of the all time greats to ever run a route. Definitely on the NFL WR Mt. Rushmore."

However, Thaddeus Moss, the son of Randy Moss, corrected Favre with a response to the legendary NFL quarterback, claiming Fitzgerald Sr.'s report of his father's liver cancer was false.

"Brett, the support is appreciated, truly," Thaddeus Moss replied to Favre on X. "This is not true. My father will address the world when he is ready to."

Randy Moss and Brett Favre spent one season together with the Vikings in 2010, the receiver's second stint with the team. During that year, Randy Moss tallied 28 catches for 393 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games, but Minnesota only secured a 5-11 record.

Favre retired following the season, while Randy Moss was not picked up by a team in 2011. He did, however, join the Tennessee Titans halfway through 2012, which marked his final year playing football.

Thaddeus Moss, on the other hand, helped lead the LSU Tigers to a national championship win in 2019 alongside current Cincinnati Bengals stars Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. He went undrafted in 2020 and played only two seasons (2020-2021) in the NFL with the Washington Football Team and the Bengals before retiring in 2024.
