Towards the end of the summer window, Àlex Moreno arrived at Nottingham Forest from Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal.
Prior to joining Nottingham Forest, the 31-year-old was linked with a move back to Real Betis.
Estadio Deportivo, a newspaper local to the La Liga side, point this out when covering the latest on the Aston Villa owned player.
Moreno spent over three years at Real Betis before joining Aston Villa in January 2023. Manuel Pellegrini was in favour of his return in the last window, but his side couldn’t sign the left-back even on loan due to his high salary.
The Spaniard moved to Nottingham Forest while his former club signed Romain Perraud and Ricardo Rodríguez. The duo have struggled to impress, and Real Betis are considering parting ways with the latter.
Moreno has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Reds but Nuno Espírito Santo left him out of the squad to face Manchester United at the weekend.
The manager said Moreno “reached his limit” against Manchester City last week. In addition to this, he isn’t eligible to face Aston Villa on Saturday and Nuno Espírito Santo wanted to try out other options.
Estadio claim the Nottingham Forest man’s omission coincidently came when he ‘lovingly responded’ to a Real Betis fan on social media. This also comes at a time when the Andalusian club are looking to replace Rodríguez in January.
The website has connected the dots to hint Moreno could leave Nottingham Forest in the winter market, and fancies a Betis return.
