Liverpool made it six wins from six in the UEFA Champions League after a tough 1-0 win away to Girona.
The Reds had to rely on a Mohamed Salah penalty to wrap up the three points with Alisson Becker winning praise from Virgil van Dijk after keeping a clean sheet in his comeback performance for Liverpool.
With Andy Robertson receiving some banter from his Liverpool teammates after being named Man of the Match, it was a good night for the Reds in Catalonia, with Arne Slot once again overcoming a difficult away trip with a single moment of magic.
And Rio Ferdinand has given his verdict on Salah’s performance against Girona.

Salah again stepped up for Liverpool despite ‘quiet’ game
Speaking on TNT Sports coverage of the game, the former Manchester United defender noted that the Egyptian international was again ‘quiet’ for Liverpool, though Salah turned up when the Reds needed him most from the spot to give the visitors the win.
This isn’t the first time this season the 32-year-old forward has been labelled as quiet during a game, despite turning up with the goods, with Glenn Murray saying Salah was oddly absent for Liverpool in their 3-2 win against Southampton last month.

And Ferdinand has echoed a similar statement about Salah after last night’s win, with the pundit praising the Liverpool no. 11 despite another quiet night at the office for the winger, who needed a penalty to get on the scoresheet.

Ferdinand said: “There’s no doubt about that man. He had been quiet all evening really and then he steps up and continues his rich vein of form to score the winning goal, it’s what he’s there for and what he’s going to do.”

What Liverpool record did Salah break vs Girona?
It might have been a quiet night for Salah, but it was another historic performance for the Liverpool superstar, who broke yet another record with his goal against Girona.
As well as drawing level with Steven Gerrard’s penalty record in the Champions League, Salah also became the first Liverpool player to break into the top-ten goalscoring charts for the competition’s history with 50 goals in total, the first Red to ever hit the milestone.
Indeed, Salah’s performance might have been quiet for the Reds, but it was still a historic night for the former AS Roma star, who continues to be one of the best attackers in Europe under Arne Slot this season.
